Outside Class Activity 2 (college Fair)

Do you know what upsets me? Well none of you know so i'll tell you. So I went to the college fair at RBC for my second outside activity and I talked to a few colleges. Did you know that it is way easier to get into a four year university after transferring from a junior college than it is coming out of high school? Yeah if that upset you then I understand your pain. That is one hundred percent whack lol. I spoke to an admissions representative from the university of Alabama and she explained to me that all you need to transfer is a 2.0 gpa while at a junior college. I really dont understand why it's easier to go to a four year university coming out of a junior college than high school but thats kind of a plus for those at a junior it gives them a better chance of getting into the university they dreamed of. And its also great for athletes like myself. So for those who did not go, I would hope that you can make it to the next one if there is a next one.

Outside Class Activity (Softball game)

For my first outside class activity I chose to go support our Richard Bland Stateswomen and they did pretty good. Sierra had no eras, Ayanna had a sweet double play, and she stole two bases. So shout out to my best friend Ayanna. My other best friend Amberly hit a double. She cocked that bat back and nailed that ball between the two outfielders! And the crowd went wild. I never believed that I could like women softball so much. It was a great experience and it was such a pretty day and on top of all of that the stadiums food was so good. I swear that was the best burger I have ever eat in my life. But back to the experience I was with all five of my roommates and we went to the game to show support to our friends. We cheered so loud for them and got them so hype and the parents even loved us. It was a great experience!! Go Stateswomen!

Friday!!!

Hello to everyone out there reading this blog right now. It is Friday and the weekend is upon us lol. Today in English class we did grammar schmammar again and I really liked this groups presentation, they went well over ten minutes and they gave us a lot of candy. I mean who doesn't like candy? Candy makes the world go round. But seriously this grammar schmammar group was really good they touched up on the topic of further and farther. They properly explained the topic and they used multiple examples to help us further understand their topic. They went well over ten minutes which i thought was really neat. Everyone should strive to want to present the way that grammar schmammar presented.

A New Week

Its a new week here a Richard bland and boy is time flying by lol it is already week 10 here and I swear we juststarted school. But never mind that we have another paper to write.....IKR another one? But its all good I am going to write my paper and this one will be good. But we have to cite three sources!!  That is not the move, I hate writing a paper that needs to be cited that will honestly be the death of me, I need to really learn how to cite papers better than I did in High School. I wasn't in class Monday because I was sick so I might have missed him explain the paper and how cite it. Nevertheless I will write a good paper this time. Class today was pretty fun tho, we got to play taboo! That game really makes you use your brain...I honestly think I may have caught a brain cramp jk jk it wasn't that serious but I did horrible when it was my turn to read the card. I really need to step my game up when it comes to taboo.

This Week So Far

Hey everyone Jacob here lol! just in case you've missed class Monday or today. basically we have discussed articles that we were supposed to read and hopefully you all read them. And on Monday we watched a video of this guy basically telling us that we don't need a college education to get to where you want to go. He used great examples for instance he referred to Malcolm X saying "Malcolm X learned everything he needed in prison" which is very true. He also referred to Bill gates who was a college drop out and now is one of the richest men on the planet. Everything he said was spot on, you really don't need a college education to get rich because all life really is, is common sense. He explained how he busted his butt studying so much that he had brain cramps and survived on nothing but caffeine. And it was practically all for no reason because the one who harped to him that college was important was the same person who didn't even show up to his college graduation. Do I think you need a college education to get where you want in life? No i do not. College to me is just a door way to help get you in a better position to have a job. That is all it seems to me. But yes this is what we have done so far this week!

Grammar Schmammar 3

That grammar schmammer group 3 was the best ive seen so far! Everything they presented and talked about was on point. But my favorite part of course was the candy. I mean who doesn’t love candy, especially twix, starburst, and blow pops! Everyone loves them. But that wasn’t the most important part of the presentation. Their whole presentation on comma usage was excellent and I especially liked how they got everyone involved, it really felt like they were teachers teaching a class. My favorite part was how Kayla threw the joke in there. She explained the importance of commas in a comical way. Ive never seen that done before . So grammar schmammer group 3 yall did a great job!!

Presentation

Working on our presentation for Monday was not as hard as I expected it to be. Honestly I think my grammar schmammar group will be the best out of everyone’s group, okay maybe not the best but we will be something slight! This active and passive voice thing is harder than I thought it would be. It should be easy to present and everyone should be able to comprehend everything well. We will have a couple of examples for the class to participate in and have a better understanding of active and passive voice.

A little bit about myself

Hello my name is Jacob Butler, I am a freshman at Richard Bland College and I run track. I am a military brat, I was born in Panama and I moved to North Carolina when I was about two years old I lived there for four years. At the age of six I moved to Hawaii and I absolutely loved it! I stayed in Hawaii for five years. At the age of eleven I moved to California and I only stayed there for two years. And then at the age of thirteen i moved to Virginia and I have been living here going on six years. Out of all the places that I have lived my favorite was California. Shocking right? Most people ask me why my favorite place isn't Hawaii. But I have my reasons. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely loved Hawaii it was so beautiful down there, but California was just better. Going to Universal Studios, Sea World, Disneyland, and staying down in Hollywood, Los Angeles, and the Beverly Hills area is the greatest experience I have ever had. Everything happens right where I lived at. I've even seen and met celebrities!  California is honestly the greatest place in the world I miss and love it.
